A wonderful early 19th century hooped back windsor armchair in elm. Stamped Hubbard, so attributed to John Hubbard, Grantham, Lincolnshire; Windsor chair maker born 1799. Fantastic form and larger than normal scale. Elm saddle seat supported by turned legs with bow stretchers. Charming honest repairs but otherwise sound.
